Story

This song was inspired by a vision I had.

In Jerusalem there is a domed structure that sits on G-d's chosen dwelling place. It is closed tight and and entry is unavailable to most people and nations.

In my vision suddenly a single ray of light bursts through one of the closed windows on the upper part of the domed structure. Soon another one bursts through another window. One ray of Light after the next begin to shine until the entire top part of the structure was bursting with rays of Light. Then the entire structure lifts up from the ground and takes off, flying upwards into the dark night sky and out to the universe like a spaceship. The spot where the structure had stood closed to the world is now shining brightly. The Light, that had been imprisoned is now released.

Suddenly people from all over the world, all nations, colors, faiths, shapes, sizes, young and old alike appear. They join hands and gather - circling around the Light. Peace is now within our grasp. The smile as they gaze upon the Light.

One glorious Light for us.

One glorious Light for all the world to see.

One glorious Light for all the world to be!

TIME PASSES BY 1999 CD; Time Passes By, Track 1

Time passes by. Time passes by, my friend. You, you and I, go on living.  Oh yeah…

Life is a song.   Life is a song, my friend. Time passes by as we’re singing. Oh yeah…

Take a risk.  Dare to fly.  We can do it if we try. We are here.

We are now.   Anywhere.   Anyhow. Time passes by, my friend

Reach for a star.   Reach for a star, my friend. Light shines on those who are living.

One of the Hebrew psalms (137). Exiled from their land, they are taunted by their captives: "Sing to us. Sing to us your sacred songs." They weep, "But how can we sing our sacred songs on foreign soil?"

    My Sweet Land

MY SWEET LAND 1982 CD: Time Passes By, Track 5

Another original first. The vision: A little house by a stream with lots of beautiful green hills. I sit at the doorstep with the "child within". My man is canoeing down the stream. Peace and tranquility abound.

See the hillside over yonder. There's my baby over there. At his doorstep he is singing a lullaby.

And the child that sleeps within me. Nestles peaceful in his soul.

In my dreams I catch a glimpse as I cast a sigh.

And we are sailing on a river leading hopes and dreams afar.

In my life I've had a million.  Still I close my eyes to dream up more.

Through the mountains and the hillsides of my sweet land.

For the moment I have rested, I can hear him singing gently.

Over yonder on the hillside I send my gaze...

    Whenever You're You

WHENEVER YOU'RE YOU 1997CD; Time Passes By, Track 7

Take life one day at a time now - take it nice and slow

Take time to look all around you got everywhere to go

See the greens, the blues and the yellows jumping out at you

Light, heavy, easy or mellow - anything will do

Whenever you're you; whenever you're you

Loud thunder, bright bolts of lightning - wonders of the world

Stars shining, white moon a-rising - every boy and girl

Gaze fondly, reach for each other - embracing gentle winds

Be there for now and forever - hear the heavens sing

Whenever you're you;  whenever you're you

Take flight, go where your wings do fly.

Stay low or climb to a higher high

Reach out, follow your heart - expand.

Near or far, wherever yu land it's grand

Whenever you're you; whenever you're you

Golden sun, rainbow colored skies surround you as you go

Move forward eyes open wide, you've nothing to do but grow

Each day is your very first birth-day, celebrate it with ease

Live life with each loving moment - happy, full and free

PIERROT c 1997 CD; Time Passes By, Track 6

Oh - on a lonely night.

The moon is in the sky and you're looking about

Can you touch the light as you reach up.

Climbing on a moonbeam - you fly away

To worlds up above - Floating on a cloud on high.

    The winds whisk you away.

Shedding just one tear - on your own

    Wait - are you listening?

You can hear the sound of someone who cares

Showing you the way as the raven flies.

Traveling down your path - following your senses, you see

The lines are never drawn - and time is endless.

    Calling you from afar

    Shedding just one tear;

    Coming home

Say - have you ever tried.

Searching for your heart - reaching within

Spreading out your wings as the eagle soars.

    Climbing higher heights

To the edge of the world.

You call out your name - standing on the peak

    A voice calls you back - shedding just one tear;

    Coming home

    You Don't Know

YOU DON'T KNOW 1998CD: Time Passes By, Track 9

Drifting - where do I want to go from here? Sailing - setting my course for anywhere.

You don't know where I've been, you don't know what I've seen

    You don't know of the light or of the dark;

You don't know how I feel, you don't know what is real

    You don't know of a longing in my heart to set forth and go;

    Set forth and go .....

Floating - riding the waves of endless time. Moving - over a whisper and a sign

You don't know where I've been, you don't know what I've seen

    You don't know of the light or of the dark;

You don't know how I feel, you don't know what is real

    You don't know of a longing in my heart to set forth and go;

    Set forth and go .....

Another time, another place. Another rhyme, another face

This is the way I want to go. This is the place I want to know

Another mountain yet to climb. Another passageway to find

This is the time to get away. This is the time, it is today!

To set forth and go …} x4

    Where I'm Bound

WHERE I'M BOUND 1997CD; Time Passes By, Track 10

Tom Paxton wrote a beautiful song saying "I can't help but wonder where I'm bound". This song seems to know where I'm bound and I'm ready to go there.

I am not afraid when life turns me around, I am not afraid.

I am not afraid of the sight and the sound, I am not afraid

I embrace a heavenly face.  A simple smile; Almighty Grace.

    I forgive. I wanna live. I can love. L-rd I can give.

And I can't help but go to where I'm bound, where I'm bound.

Traveling on to where I'm bound.

I am not alone in the circle of life, I am not alone.

I am not alone in my struggle and strife, I am not alone

I embrace a heavenly face.  A simple smile; Almighty Grace.

    I forgive. I wanna live. I can love. L-rd I can give.

And I can't help but go to where I'm bound, where I'm bound.

Traveling on to where I'm bound.

Now the sun is rising in the East – ever slowly I arise

From a peaceful slumber I have ceased – the daylight greets my eyes

In the quiet of the early morn – birds sing their early morning song

Catching moments just as they are born – yes, this is where I belong

CHORUS:  And the wind whispers softly in my ear – telling stories only I can hear

In these precious moments everything just seems so clear

Yes, this is where I belong  –          yes, this is where I belong

Now the sun is setting in the West – the sky is turning deeper shades of blue

From the hustle bustle I can rest – and sing this loving song to you

I am but just one single soul. I am here in a desert.

Extending my hand as I turn. Gazing in every direction.

I’m lost in a strong gust of wind and I’m covered in dust.

Yet I feel I’ve been touched by the ALL. A presence in me I can feel.

I call You to break down the walls. Please give me Your hand.

Break me loose from this sleepy haze. Enveloped complete so am I.

Standing alone in the dust. I hear no one answer.

Why must I stand here alone? Why must I touch no one? Why must I remain a soul solitary?

Humbled before You I kneel. So scattered. I hang my head.

In silence I pray You will hear this prayer of the numb.

For love surely I’m worthy still, of standing alone never more.

I’m wanton of Your guiding hand; for strength and for courage.

Why must I stand here alone? Why must I touch no one? Why must I remain a soul solitary

    The Gift

THE GIFT 1997 ** AACI Songwriting Competition Winner

Empty space and empty time - lead to rhythm and to rhyme

When all I've got and all that's mine - I give to you - the gift

In turning over all the pages - all the days that one engages

All the wisdom of the ages - I give to you - the gift

Where one can gather all the dreams - Of how it is and how it seems

And question, still, what it all means - This is for you - the gift

Sit humbly now as we grow old - collecting stories to be told

We dare to be forever bold - we give to you - the gift

When on that day, when in the end - When death is waiting 'round the bend

It is in love we leave, my friend - We leave to you - the gift

    The Eyes of a Dream

    THE EYES OF A DREAM

    Stare wide!

Your eyes see a world sleeping soundly

    As time turns by

    You’ll see

    The faces of evil

    They glare at

    The goodness of life

    Find me gone (I said)

    And loneliness smiles

Cry not for I’ll send a dream

    Blue sighs

    Azure and soft

    Light blinds your mind

    Climb high

    The air is much clearer

Inner vision is surely the key

    Run free!

    The wings of your footsteps

Travel swift as the eyes of a dream

    Who Knows the Power

    WHO KNOWS THE POWER

Who knows the power of the fire that burns in our hearts?

Stay for a moment as the stars lose their way in the clouds

    Sounds fill the night air.

We are high on the skyline.

    We can fly.

    Realize.

    Be Me Tonite

    BE ME TONITE

Don’t want to be with you tonite.

Don’t want to be with you later.

Don’t want to be with you tonite – it ain’t right.

You’ve taken me away with your living.

You’re taken me away with your life.

I’ve needed your love and your giving, but baby, now it ain’t right.

Just let me be me tonite.

    I feel like drifting away

Leaving my mind’s heart to play

Giving in to that freedom deep within

    And being me tonight!

Loving you is what keeps me going

And baby, with us now it’s tight

The music we’re making, it’s hot and it’s growing

But I gotta be me tonite!

    Closer Now

    CLOSER NOW

I am so happy that I have found you

And you have found me and now we are three

Sharing our smiles we now embrace

Leaving time we feel our warmth within

    Bringing in the outer space

    Feeling close the inner peace

    Closer now we can embrace

Watching love flushed on your face

Holding you it’s clear we’ll make it through the years!

    Awakening

    AWAKENING

“Tell me of your life,” I said

I want to love you now

    Make it slow and meaningful

    The nighttime plays your song

    I seek your sensitivity

    I know it’s there somewhere

Your eyes are full of thoughts and worlds

    They fear their revelations

    Smiles shared are warm

    You cannot hide for long

Your uncertainties shine bright to me

They make you human though, you know

Jerusalem.
Three creative souls find themselves drawn together in perfect harmony.
Trine.
They loved the music they made together.
They loved each other deeply.
The city dubbed them “Crosby, Stills and Terry” –Joni too - because they were just that finely tuned.

Recorded with a home stereo system onto a cassette tape, these three loving souls produced only a handful of acoustic originals.

This is their legacy.

    Fire in the Forest

    FIRE IN THE FOREST 1984
CD: Hinay Ma Tov; Track 5; Arranged & Produced by Tofa’ah

There is a forest far away from here
There sits a weary man tending his treasures of wrinkles and minding his wares
Blessings and prayers, he sings to the Lord. Thickets of life in the pockets of time.
There's a fire in the forest

In the heart of illusion burns a steady flame
Glowing in the darkness; Questioning life of the here and there. Guarding the answers
Seekers of light yearning for wisdom. Thickets of life in the pockets of time.
There's a fire in the forest

Sing to the heavens. Reach for a shining star.
Covet the secrets of ageless wanderings. Blessings and prayers.
Seekers of light sing to the Lord. Thickets of life in the pockets of time.
There's a fire in the forest

    MY SWEET LAND 1982
CD: Time Passes By, Track 5

See the hillside over yonder. There's my baby over there.
At his doorstep he is singing a lullaby.

And the child that sleeps within me. Nestles peaceful in his soul.
In my dreams I catch a glimpse as I cast a sigh.

And we are sailing on a river leading hopes and dreams afar.
In my life I've had a million. Still I close my eyes to dream up more.
Through the mountains and the hillsides of my sweet land.

For the moment I have rested, I can hear him singing gently.
Over yonder on the hillside I send my gaze... And we are sailing…

Where a soul exists forever in eternal forms of light

    Menuchat Shabbat / Sabbath Peace

This beautiful instrumental composition was born in Ohio when my good friend, Terry (Oovabloe) and I were sitting outside on a bench visiting. When we listened back to the cassette recording we noticed the locusts had also been singing together with us very beautifully. The original title of the song was, "Locust Lullaby".

    Psalm 84

    M'silot Bilvavam

My soul longs and faints for the courts of HaShem

My heart and my flesh cry out for the living G-D

Happy is the one whose strength is in You, in whose hearts are Your paths

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand

I had rather be at the threshold in the house of my G-d

Then dwelling in the tents of wickedness

    Oh L-rd of Hosts

Happy is the one who trusts in You
